We have all heard that bacteria are becoming resistant to treatment, but why and what does that actually mean? Dr Rebecca Ingram's talk reimagined what medical treatment would look like without antibiotics. Dr Rebecca Ingram explored all the current routine treatments that will no longer be possible once antibiotics fail. Then Dr Rebecca Ingram explored what can be done, how can we prevent this reimagined world from occurring and the increasingly important role that vaccines will play in the future. AIVRT Meeting in Queen's University Belfast - June 2023

The All-island Vaccine Research and Training Hub (AIVRT) team led by Assoc Prof Siobhán McClean, UCD and Prof Miguel Valvano, QUB held their second full network meeting in Queen's University Belfast on Tuesday 20th of June, 2023. AIVRT Researchers participate in World Immunization Week 2023

World Immunization Week, celebrated in the last week of April, highlights the collective action needed to protect people from vaccine-preventable diseases. The overarching theme of World Immunization Week 2023 is ‘The Big Catch-Up’; WHO is working with partners to accelerate rapid progress in countries to get back on track to ensure more people, particularly children, are protected from preventable diseases.
