AIVRT Network Outline

The event opened with a welcome introduction from our host and Northern Lead, Professor Miguel Valvano. It was particularly good to meet the PhD and post-doctoral researchers had been hired since the kick-off meeting in January. It was a productive morning of project updates and presentations from post-doctoral and PhD researchers. The afternoon began with an open seminar from AIVRT Principal Investigator, Prof Pat Walsh (TCD), to AIVRT researchers and a large audience of researchers from the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine, entitled "Intrerleukin-36 cytokines; orchestrators of inflammation and homeostasis at barrier surfaces”. The afternoon continued with more presentations from post-doctoral and PhD researchers and it was exciting to hear all the progress that they have made. A final open discussion session allowed all AIVRT participants to explore collaborative projects and future plans. Discussions continued over dinner which took place in Belfast city centre.
